 Remember those peaceful, relaxing mornings before having kids, when you and your spouse, friends or coworkers could sit and chat over a hot cup of coffee? Ah, those were the days. Too bad they’re gone forever... or are they?
When you visit Chat & Play Cafe, Chesterfield’s new family friendly coffeehouse and café, you can experience it all again! While you are sipping on specialty organic coffees or British teas, your children will be playing happily in the two highly-visible play areas, allowing you to relax, chat with friends and enjoy the ambiance with your children in perfect view. The main play area is primarily designed for preschoolers, with a professionally-installed play set and safety floor, a play house, play school bus and a train crawling tunnel, all contained within a special no-climb net fence. The smaller self-contained play area has stimulating toys suitable for infants and older babies. Both play areas are handicap accessible.
When your children finally tear themselves away from the fun to come over and announce they’re hungry, you can choose something nutritious from Chat & Play’s family-friendly menu offering healthy breakfast, mid-morning snack and lunch choices for children and Boars Head sandwiches, salads, wraps, paninis or baked potatoes for the adults. Kids meals are always half price with the purchase of an adult meal but on Thursdays, kids eat free when an adult meal is purchased.
Says Louise Sutton, Co-Owner, “The creation of Chat & Play Café developed from my own experiences as a parent. After the birth of my second child, I found it so hard to meet up with friends, playgroups, or business people anywhere other than my home or theirs. So, the idea for Chat & Play Café was born. The name reflects my English background, and comes from the English saying: ‘Come over for a cup of tea and a chat, while the kids play’”.
 Chat & Play also offers wi-fi access, so bring your laptop, get a little work done, email a friend or surf the internet, while the kids are occupied. Special entertainment for children is provided most days, including crafts, music, baby sign language, fun with food, and magic acts (call or visit the website for more info).
Chat & Play is open Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. On Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays the café is open until 8:00 pm so your entire family can enjoy dinner out. After dinner the kids can wear themselves out in the play areas and you and your mate might even be able to sneak in a little uninterrupted, quality time!
Chat & Play Cafe is also available for private parties after 4pm Monday-Saturday and 2pm on Sundays. With 2000 square feet of indoor space and an 800 square foot patio, Chat & Play can cater your special occasion, including sporting events for both kids and adults. Offering a variety of healthy, buffet-style party food, as well as regular menu items, and beer and wine, children and adults alike will enjoy “playing” and “partying” at Chat & Play.
